Public Service Leadership 360 Assessment

The Public Service Leadership 360 assessment is a comprehensive, multi-rater assessment tool that has been used by more than 4,000 government leaders—from aspiring supervisors to senior executives—to evaluate their performance, assess their leadership progress and chart a course for self-improvement.

The tool has been used within Cabinet agencies and across our training programs, with one leader calling “the roadmap to [my] leadership success.” Along with the Public Service Leadership Model, our 360 assessment sets the standard for evaluating effective government leadership.

How It Works

Leadership competencies and feedback needs vary significantly between emerging and senior leaders. As such, we offer two distinct and specialized versions of our 360 assessment, both designed to address the unique challenges and responsibilities at each respective leadership level in government.

The Standard assessment provides leaders with a comprehensive evaluation of foundational public service leadership competencies.

The Senior Leader version addresses strategic competencies needed for executive-level impact.

Our analysis of 360 data shows that public servants are deeply committed to the public good, serve as stewards of the public’s trust and excel at collaboration. Our assessment also spotlights opportunities for continued development in competencies such as self-reflection, embracing risk and innovation.
