In his testimony, McManus praised the Administration and the Office of Personnel Management for making hiring reform a priority, and commented on the recent Presidential Memo and OPM guidance McManus also urged the Subcommittee to take up the Senate-passed bill S. 736, the Federal Hiring Process Improvement Act, to codify these recommendations in law. In his testimony, McManus also addressed the Veterans Employment Initiative and Federal Career Intern Program, and highlighted current legislative proposals that merit consideration, including H.R. 3510, the Roosevelt Scholars Act, and H.R. 3264, the Federal Internship Improvement Act.
