How does employee engagement affect agency performance in the federal government? That’s what the Partnership for Public Service and Boston Consulting Group set out to understand in “A Prescription for Better Performance: Engaging Employees at VA Medical Centers.” We analyzed data over a three-year period from nearly 150 medical centers operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and found a strong correlation between employee engagement and higher patient satisfaction, better service and more talent retention.
